To spread the love and friendship between countries, and to support anti-epidemic work of Wuhan, on June 2nd, UNHIF donated 50,000 masks to Jilin City, China. It helps Jilin fight the COVID-19. This donation is another action since UNHIF donated 200,000 medical masks to six European and Asian countries in April.
In early May, UNHIF’s Health Assistance Committee delegated the representatives in the UNHIF’s East-North office, and its two business partners in Jilin, Lanjin Group and Dongfu Miye Corporate, to deal with the donation.
To make sure the anti-epidemic resources get delivered, the donation project team chose a professional mask producing factory in Shenyang, Liaoning, and ordered 50,000 masks. In the end of May, after receiving qualified masks, the team contacted with the related department in Jilin, and discussed about the donation. Finally, these masks were donated to the Civil Affairs Bureau, the Construction and Environmental Hygiene Department, police stations, and two corporates which were seriously affected by the epidemic in ChuanYing District, Jilin City. Some masks were distributed by the Civil Affairs Bureau to anti-epidemic staff in each community and nursing home. Some were distributed to public janitors by the Construction and Environmental Hygiene Department.
After receiving masks, the leaders in Chuanying District, Jilin, expressed that they would conscientiously fight the epidemics, and would not disappoint the care and love from all levels of leaders and international friends.
To fight with COVID-19, in the early April, UNHIF officially initiated a global anti-epidemic and rescue action plan, committed to promoting the international cooperation for fighting COVID-19, preventing global epidemic from spreading and worsening altogether. The first stage of the action plan focuses on organizing the resources for anti-epidemic. It mainly donated 200,000 medical masks to six countries including Italy, Spain, England, France, Germany, and Iran, where the epidemic was the most serious.
